Ten Years of New Collar Goods
Captured in our first shop in Denver, CO
Today marks New Collar Goods’ 10th anniversary.
Our first big project kicked off much like they still do; long days-turned nights, gingerly rearranging and moving our work like tetris pieces around the shop. Except these days, we have a larger space, with a few more tools, and a bit more trust in ourselves.
To those of you who took a chance buying from us when we had a slim portfolio and agreed to pay more than standard retail prices just to give us a shot, we thank you. You have helped us find meaning and joy in this work. We love building pieces for you that foster a sense of home and connection.
We remember every single one of you who has purchased a table or custom item from us. To this day we attribute each design to the first customer that purchased it;
“What if we made it similar to Marlene’s wall-hung table?”
Or…
“We’ll add a reveal in the tabletop like we did for Rebecca’s table.”
Or…
“Let’s make another set of Justin’s nightstands and add them to our collection, I loved those.”
…and so on.
We remember because we are so grateful. We still get that ping of excitement every time a customer chooses us.
Even after all these years, it still feels like we are little kid versions of Jon and Deana, sitting behind their lemonade stand, waiting with hopeful anticipation. When suddenly someone notices us and steps up to our counter with a smile on their face- we are instantly delighted. That is what this whole thing feels like. Welcome to Jon & Deana’s Lemonade Stand, can we take your order?
Our promise to you is that we will continue to pay it forward by partnering with businesses who also put their heart into what they do and are proud of their work. Supporting and partnering with other small businesses gives more life to our work and infuses more joy into the process.
After all, we love a good lemonade stand too.
Thank you to all of our partners and customers who have worked with us over the last 10 years. It has been a gift and an honor to work with each one of you!
Today we raise up a glass, pause for a beat and acknowledge this particular milestone and the people who have joined us on this journey.
Then, we’ll look forward to what tomorrow will bring…
With heartfelt gratitude,
Jon & Deana
